Adriana PintoBrazil native takes the lead in local dance classes

It started as a way to meet new people, maybe make a few friends. But lessons in tango led to a husband, a passion and a part-time career.

Adriana Pinto, 40, started taking lessons at 26 while living in her native Brazil.

“I didn’t dance before that. …; I just started at a dance studio. I took everything, every rhythm. But I fell in love with the tango.”

Put on Your Dancing Shoes!

The October/November 2006 issue of Accent on Lifestyle magazine features a story about the healthful benefits of dancing, and options to do so in New Hampshire, primarily along the Seacoast.

The story features quotes by Elmira Cancelada, an Argentine tango instructor at UNH in Durham; mentions Adriana Pinto and Carl Potvin, who teach A.T. in the Portsmouth, NH, area; and of course, a full-page photo of Tom Jenkins and Julie Leven striking a tango pose (see image above right).

Hello everyone,

Last week I was interviewed by the Portsmouth Herald (in Portsmouth, NH) about the tango lessons in NH seacoast area. It was exciting to talk about tango, and to have a chance to share my view of it with the community. I hope you like it! Here is the link to the page.

I will see most of you soon, possibly on the dance floor.

Abrazos,
Adriana Pinto
